Russian letter:     Sounds like:
A, a arm, ah
Б б B
Б в V
Г г G, like in the word Green
Д д D
E, e ye or je, somewhat like in the word Bed
Ё ё yo, sort of like in Bird
Ж ж G like in Beige
З з Z like in Zebra
И и i or ee, like in Bid, Fix, Sheet
Й й iy, like if you changed the O to I in the word Boy
К к K
Л л L
М м M
Н  нN N
П п P
Р р R
С с S
Т т T
У у OO like in Book
Ф ф F
Х х H like in word Hair or Hat
Ц ц tz or ts like in let's
Ч ч ch like in chair
Ш ш hard sh like in bush
Щ щ soft sh like in shoe or sheet
ъ Hardness sign. Keeps the consonant hard sounding, when in front of E, which would normally soften it and adds something like a j before the vowl to make sort of like a step or a catch in a word. Can never be first in a word, always sits after a consonant and before a vowel.
ы Weird i. Start saying "eee" and slowly round your mouth a little, until you hear the sound change ever so slightly. Also works to raise the tip of your tongue and slightly move it back while saying "eee". Can never be first in a word.
ь Softness sign. Makes a consonant softer and adds a slight catch like a J, like in Spanish a wiggly line on top does. Or like in a word Pew. Always comes after a consonant. Can never be first in a word.
Э э Between A in word Cat or E in word Let
Ю юLike ew in word New or few
Я я ya, like in Yam

Here is a Wikipedia link to a Russian alphabet, which shows handwritten letters as well, plus a sound recording of the Russian alphabet.
